VICE magazine approached me to concept a design for an article that looked at “Navigational Drift” in the digital age amongst Millennials. Navigational Drift is what they defined as a new form of orientation where large companies pave online roadways while Millennials take direction and meander from one App to the next.
The challenge from VICE was to concept a visual execution that supported the thesis of the article.
A bit of irony was added to the illustration by applying analogue tactics to a digital subject. The resulting image was created by cutting and stacking layers of colored construction paper and photographing the results.
VICE loved the results but unfortunately the article was pulled from being published.
